Crossflon high performance compounded PTFE materials are available as the sealing elements in the exclusive range of Rotary Shaft Seals. Our custom manufactured seals are produced to meet the exaacting requirements of our customers needs.
CHARACTERISTICS
Crossley radial shaft seals with outer metal case and Crossflon PTFE sealing lip.
MATERIAL
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Can be used in a wide range of applications, particularly in general mechanical engineering, automotive, aerospace and in the chemical industry. They are particularly suitable for dry running and poor lubrication, high chemical resistance and where stick-slip is a problem.
OPERATING CONDITIONS
* Maximum permissible values, depending on other operating conditions
HOUSING AND SHAFT MACHINING

Fitting
Careful fitting is a prerequisite for proper functioning of the seal. It is important that the sealing lip is not damaged, particularly when fitting the front face in the assembly direction. A fitting sleeve with a 10-15º lead taper is recommended.
STANDARD PLAIN LIP

A plain PTFE lip design is suitable for applications that require dust exclusion, sealing grease or other viscous fluids and powders. It is also suitable as an environmental seal to exclude surface spray and weather conditions.
HYDRODYNAMIC SEALS

Hydrodynamic Seals Intro A uni-directional, high performance rotary shaft seal, suited to high speed applications. Single or multi-threaded spirals act as a pump transferring any liquids away from the sealing lip back into the fluid chamber. The spiral pumping action ensures rapid fluid and heat transfer away from the lip contact area.
PTFE SEAL
PTFE Intro The all PTFE seal is fully machined, with no metal parts. This seal is best suited for applications where space is at a premium, in highly corrosive environments and where high temperatures are used. The all PTFE seal is also, because of Its FDA compliance, suitable for food and pharmaceutical contact.
