CROSSFLON J BEARINGS

Crossflon J is an all polymeric reinforced PTFE compound that was designed specifically to run against soft mating surfaces such as 316 & 303 Stainless Steel, aluminum, mild steel and other polymer materials. In addition, Crossflon J has excellent static properties and is ideal for small driving forces particularly where start/stops and reverse motion are needed.

Deformation VS Load

Load
Crossflon J bearings are capable of static load pressure of 0.26 psi.

Speed
As with most of the Crossflon range, dry running speeds up to 2m/s are achievable at low pressures.

Friction
Excellent frictional propreties: 0.12 static, 0.13 dynamic, stick/slip is virtually eliminated.

Mating Surface
As stated, Crossflon J has been designed to run successfully against soft counterfaces: Aluminium, non-ferrous metal, Stainless Steel or even plastics.

Temperature
Because of the higher coefficient of thermal expansion, Crossflon J bearings are designed to operate between -30ºC and +95ºC

Surface Finish
Surface finish ideally should be in the region of 0.2 - 0.4µm

Chemical Resistance
Excellent chemical resistance to most acids, bases and solvents

Bearing Failure
Elavated temperature, heavy loads and impact under loading will not cause Crossflon J bearings to shatter, the bearing will merely deform. This eliminates catasrophic failure, which can cause damage to other components.

WHERE TO USE PRODUCT

  • When running against soft counter faces
  • Where minimal stick/slip is required
  • Start/stop runnings
  • Oscillating, reciprocating applications
  • Long life with minimal wear to shaft or counter surface
