CROSSFLON 1403 BEARINGS
For continuous non-lubricated service, Crossflon 1403 sleeve bearings, flanged bearings, and thrust bearings are in a class of their own. The life performance of these bearings has been in excess of 4 times that of standard glass filled PTFE. Crossflon 1403 bearings can operate at the extremes of today's demanding requirements. It should always be remembered that the operating parameters given are for un-lubricated dry running conditions. The use of lubricants or cooling media will dramatically improve the performance of Crossflon 1403 bearings. Please consult our technical department with your bearing application at the early stages of design to get the maximum benefit from the Crossflon range.
Load
Crossflon 1403 bearings are capable of static load pressure up to 20 MPa.
Speed
Un-lubricated, and with light loading speeds, up to 5m/sec are achievable.
Friction
Break-away friction 0.09, Dynamic Friction 0.01
Mating Surface
Crossflon 1403 bearings operate best when the shaft or mating surface is steel with a minimum hardness of Rc35. A surface finish of .20 to .60 µm is recommended to achieve maximum bearing life.
Temperature
As with all Crossflon bearings 1403 will operate between -250ºC and +250ºC, depending on other operating conditions. Feel free to consult Beldam Crossley's technical department if your criteria falls outside of these temperatures.
Bearing Failure
Elavated temperatures, heavy loads and impact under loading will not cause Crossflon 1403 bearings to shatter, the bearing will merely deform. This eliminates catastrophic failure, which can cause damage to other components.
