Die-Pressed Rings

We've introduced a new, faster and cheaper method of producing die-pressed rings in all our braided packing materials.  Our range of conventional steel dies for die-pressed rings is huge, but for those sizes where we don’t have the required tooling we can now produce the dies quickly and at little or no cost for the dies.

Here's a recent success story here in the UK: -

A UK manufacturer of food processing machinery had a problem sealing some large industrial food mixers which processed chewing gum.  The horizontal  mixer shaft required both sealing and additional bearing support at each end.  One of our UK sales engineers, working closely with Beldam Crossley’s technical department, secured an order for sixteen sets of Pilotpack 3400 food-safe die-pressed packing rings, each set combined with a PTFE plane bearing.

.

Not only was it a success in terms of teamwork and determination, but the braided packing rings were manufactured using a new pioneering technique that uses tooling that is made entirely of an engineering polymer, doing away with the traditional, expensive steel tools.  The end result were pristine white food-safe packing rings which were easier to manufacture than traditionally-produced rings and the customer benefited from a saving of approximately £700 based on traditional methods of manufacture.

As a result of the excellent service and cost effective solution to their sealing solution, our sales engineer is confident that many more orders will follow.

A new home for Beldam Crossley
Industrial seals specialist Beldam Crossley has moved to its new home on Lostock Lane, Bolton. The move to new premises, which took place in January 2006, provides 2800m2 of space and an innovative environment in which the company can operate and continue to grow.

With the company's increasing portfolio of industrial seals, joints and gaskets, new premises were required to house the growing customer service and technical teams, along with the expanding manufacturing facilities.

Relocation commenced in December 2005 and was completed at the end of January 2006. John Southall, managing director, comments: “Everything went very smoothly and according to plan. We’re delighted with our new facilities and the potential it offers us as we plan for the future.”
